An air india spokesperson said, "The crew followed all the prescribed procedures and the matter has been reported to the authorities. An independent committee will be convened to assess the incident and the action to be taken against the passenger. air india continues to follow the SOP prescribed by DGCA in such cases."
A similar case came to light in november 2022. At that time, a passenger named shankar Mishra urinated on a female passenger on air India's New York-Delhi flight. After this incident, the accused shankar Mishra was arrested from Bengaluru on january 6, 2023 and later the court sent him to judicial custody. However, later the court granted bail on january 31, 2023.
