HarperCollins acquired the publishing rights for Rs 2 crore. Tata Mathew's biography is written by Thomas Mathew, a retired Malayalee from the indian Administrative Service.
He has been closely associated with ratan tata for over three decades and has been a member of the Board of Directors of leading corporate houses in India.
Former IAS officer Thomas Mathew is also a noted writer, photographer, corporate strategist, and defence analyst. He has authored four books.
For the past few years, Mathew has had access to Ratan Tata's personal papers, correspondence and photographs. He is compiling an autobiographical account of Tata's childhood, college days, and the people and events that influenced his early life.
It is expected to include previously unreported details of recent developments such as the Tata Nano project and the acquisition of Tata Steel Limited.
The book will also feature a series of controversies, including the removal of former Tata Sons chairman Cyrus Mistry.
The sale of the book's print, e-book, and audiobook rights together is worth over Rs 2 crore. The rights to the OTT film based on the book are reserved for the author. The author is represented by Aneesh Chandy of Labyrinth Literary Agency.
