We are all familiar with how the life of differently-abled people is. Some people make fun of him, bully him, consider him a burden and while some people show sympathy to him, show mercy. If the differently-abled want something, it is equal status, their wish is that people should not consider them different, see them, appreciate their art and not treat them differently by seeing what is different in them. In our country, even today, the disabled do not get the status they deserve, and even their families are not able to fully adopt some other disabled people. But they say that you will decide what will be your life, not your family or this society. Yunus Parassery of kerala has proved the same thing once again.

Yunus was lying in bed for years

His family came to know about his illness when he was 4 months old. It is a genetic disorder in which deformities occur in the bones of the victim and the bones start breaking. Yunus, 40, was imprisoned in his house till 6 years ago, or rather his whole world was covered in the bed itself. This person with a height of 3 feet was living in the darkness hiding himself from the world.

Meeting with social worker changed life

Yunus's days were just lying on the bed, but fate had something else in his favor. According to a report in The New indian Express , meeting Nazeer Kuttoor, a philanthropist, changed Yunus's life. Yunus decided to leave the four walls of the house and go to the light. Then Yunus was 34 years old when he breathed free air for the first time. Before meeting Nazeer, Yunus felt that going out would only add to his troubles, but Nazeer encouraged him. Yunus told that thanks to Nazeer, he was able to roam places like Thiruvananthapuram, Kanyakumari.

Yunus started social work

Yunus started social service and he found the purpose of his life. Yunus now arranges blood for the people in trouble. Yunus said, 'I am a member of Tirur Blood Donation Care. I help in arranging blood for Tirur district Hospital Blood Bank. He has a list of blood donors and also manages 10 whatsapp groups. Not only this, he also arranges medicines and food for the poor through malayalam charity.

Yunus became an inspiration to others

Yunus has become an inspiration for others by making his disability his strength. Yunus gives motivational speech while working with Snehatheeram Volunteer Wing. In the words of Yunus, 'Many people like me live behind closed doors. He spends most of his time in bed watching spiders and lizards, I used to do the same thing earlier. When other members of the family go out and taste the freedom, then the handicapped suffer a lot.

When Yunus talks to people, he also tells about his past life. They believe that family members are hesitant to take the differently-abled out, but volunteers can change this. According to Yunus, 'By helping the differently-abled to be taken outside, volunteers can expose them to the beauty of the outside world. In my speeches, I also appeal to people to become volunteers so that a change can be brought in the lives of the differently-abled.

Yunus helped the needy even during Kovid. Through their contacts, they also help in the search of missing people. Yunus's story is inspiring for all of us.
