A childhood spent in poverty, unable to complete studies, had to work, earning crores from fish farming. While most farmers are finding it difficult to be financially successful in farming, Harvendra Singh, a resident of amroha in UP, is inspiring others to take up fishing.
Harvendra was born into a common family. He wanted to become an engineer. Somehow, he also took steps to do this after the 12th but could not succeed. He had to leave his studies due to financial constraints. Further, he went to haryana in search of work and got a job for 100 rupees daily.
One day, after working for about 10 years, one day, at the behest of his brother, he left it all and returned to his home. Actually, Harvendra's brother had started fish farming and wanted Harvendra to help him with this work.
That's what changed Harvendra's life. With the help of his brother, he took a government pond in the village on lease and started fishing in it. The hard work paid off, and he made profits in the first year itself.
This gave them the strength to move forward. At present, he is doing fish farming on about 16 acres of land. According to Dainik Bhaskar, Harvendra is now doing a turnover of Rs 2 crore annually from fish farming.
