The first village in india to have no sanitary napkins..!

Kumbalangi which is situated in ernakulam district in kerala has become the first sanitary napkin-free village in India. Kumbalangi village has been benefited by distributing menstrual cups instead of sanitary napkins. Around 5000 menstrual cups were distributed to girls above 18 years of age as part of this scheme. They can be used during menstruation. kerala governor arif mohammad khan has launched this scheme for girls on Thursday. Under this campaign, 5000 menstrual cups have been distributed to women of 18 years and above.
Hibi Eden, the mp of ernakulam district said the achievement was part of a plan for her implemented in the ernakulam Parliamentary constituency. The HLL Management Academy project is fully supported by the indian Oil Corporation.
In addition, governor arif mohammad khan will declare Kumbalangi as a model village. The model village project is being implemented through the Pradhan Mantri Sansad Adarsh   Gram Yojana. In Kumbalangi, a new Tourist Information Center will be created which is one of the major tourist attractions in kerala, Kochi. Kumbalangi was the first model tourist village in India.
Kerala leads in many things including education and literacy in the country. New beginnings have now started in the ernakulam district of the state.
