Women's Day Special: The government was forced by the campaign, back the bill promoting child marriage
Women's Day Special Yogita's efforts got people's attention towards child marriage and forced the government to withdraw the bill.


Yogita Bhayana, 42, has been working for social change for more than a decade. Along with this, she has been continuously raising her voice against almost every issue related to women such as crimes like sexual abuse, domestic violence, and marital rape.


 

Yogita was one of those helpers. Yogita also came on the streets at that time to provide food and drink to other relief materials. In 2021, Yogita launched a unique wallet PLATFORM' target='_blank' title='digital-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>digital campaign against child marriage on social media. Yogita named this wallet PLATFORM' target='_blank' title='digital-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>digital campaign #BalVivahSeBachao. This campaign was to stop the rajasthan government from passing the law, which was accused of promoting child marriage.


 In fact, in september 2021, news came that the rajasthan government is going to amend the marriage Registration Act. As soon as this news came, all the social organizations opposed it and alleged that the new bill would encourage child marriage.

Many organizations were protesting at the grassroots level against the new bill, while Yogita Bhayana started a petition against it on the online platform Change.org. He addressed the chief minister of rajasthan Ashok Gehlot and demanded immediate withdrawal of the bill.
Less than a week after Yogita's #BalVivahSeBachao petition started, 20,000 people signed it and then took to social media demanding the rajasthan government withdraw the bill. Soon, #BalVivahSeBachao became a campaign not only of Yogita but of 29,000 people, who had only one demand that the rajasthan government should withdraw the bill. Yogita wrote in her petition



Yogita continued her efforts regarding this matter and in less than 2 weeks due to pressure from various organizations, offline demonstrations, and online petitions of Yogita, the rajasthan government withdrew the bill on 12 october 2021. Yogita wrote about the success of her petition,
