Though often overlooked in mainstream historical accounts, their contributions are profound and far-reaching. One of these notable figures is Hypatia of Alexandria, a Greek mathematician, philosopher, and astronomer who lived in the 4th and 5th centuries. 

Hypatia was not only a highly respected scientist but also a respected teacher who attracted students from all over the world to her lectures and discussions. Her groundbreaking work in mathematics and astronomy significantly advanced the scientific knowledge of his time.


Ban Zhao was a famous woman who lived in the Eastern Han Dynasty. She was an influential historian, philosopher and scholar, and held senior positions at the imperial court. Ban Zhao's most significant contribution was her book Lessons for women, a guide that emphasized the role of women in society and promoted girls' education, reflecting her commitment to women's empowerment through knowledge.


She was a tireless advocate for racial and gender equality, co-founded the National Association of Black women and championed the rights of marginalized communities. These women, among countless others, have left an indelible mark on their societies, demonstrating that women's contribution has always been an integral part of the progress and development of civilizations around the world.
