How dangerous is female circumcision?
Female circumcision does not give any benefit, rather it can cause many problems and sometimes even death. When this is done, it causes a lot of pain, there can be excessive bleeding, swelling in the body, fever, infection, difficulty in urinating, the wound does not heal, nearby areas are also damaged, the body can get shocked and sometimes even death occurs.
According to UNICEF, this also hurts the girl a lot. She is not able to trust her family members and is always sad. When she grows up, there can be a lot of problems during pregnancy. There can be a lot of bleeding after the birth of the child, the child can die or the woman can also die. This tradition shows the thinking that there is no equality between boys and girls. It has also been seen in many places that doctors have also started doing FGM because people think that it is safe with doctors. But WHO says that doctors should not do this at all.
