Is 'Majhi Ladki Behen Yojana' going to be closed?

shiv sena UBT leader aditya thackeray in maharashtra on wednesday (April 16) claimed that the maharashtra government's flagship Ladki Behen scheme is almost over and the ruling government is planning to remove lakhs of women from the beneficiary list. aditya thackeray claimed at a party event here that the Devendra Fadnavis-led government is in power only because of the blessings of the election Commission. He termed the ruling Mahayuti alliance as 'demonic'. shiv sena UBT leader thackeray gave this reaction a day after the statement of deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar, who said that budgetary allocation has been made for the Ladki Behen scheme and there is no question of ending it.

1500 rupees are given every month

In fact, under the Chief Minister's Majhi Ladki Behen Yojana, women are given Rs 1500 every month. The scheme is believed to have played a key role in the Mahayuti's victory in the state assembly elections last year.

'Discussion to reduce it to Rs 500'

aditya thackeray said, "There is a discussion going on whether the amount should be reduced to Rs 500 or the beneficiaries should continue to be given Rs 1500. We were planning to give Rs 3000 (the opposition alliance MVA's promise before the elections)." He further said, "The Ladki Behen scheme is almost over. It (the government) will not give Rs 2,100 (as promised) and I doubt they (women) will even get Rs 1500."

'Plan to exclude lakhs of women from the scheme'

uddhav Thackeray's son aditya thackeray said, "You should be ashamed that after forming the government with a huge majority, you did not announce the fulfillment of any election promise in the first budget of the government." The former state minister claimed that the government is planning to exclude lakhs of women from the beneficiary list of the Ladki Behen scheme. The shiv sena (UBT) leader said, "They have removed lakhs of women from the scheme. They are withdrawing money from the accounts in which the money was transferred. I have also heard that the police will also take action against the women for the scam."
