Retro, the eagerly awaited romantic action drama starring Suriya and pooja hegde, has a countdown underway.  The film, which was directed by karthik Subbaraj, is scheduled to open in theaters on May 1, 2025.  As anticipation grows, pooja hegde recently revealed an honest recollection from her initial encounter with the filmmaker, which established the tone for both her character and the film's realistic style.

"I was about to meet karthik Subbaraj for the first narration when he asked me to come without any makeup or hairstyling," pooja disclosed in an interview with india Herald. Hearing that made me very delighted because I enjoy working on movies that call for a natural, makeup-free appearance. She claims that the incident immediately helped her relate to the story's genuineness and emotional depth.

With a retro setting, Retro tells the tale of Suriya's character Paarivel Kannan, a man who is determined to put his violent past behind him to pursue love. Destiny steps in and separates him and Rukmini (Pooja Hegde) as they start a new life together. The picture eventually develops into an engrossing story of love, redemption, and the unrelenting search for a lost connection.

Joju George, Jayaram, Karunakaran, Nassar, Prakash Raj, and Sujith shankar are among the film's outstanding supporting cast members. The film promises a blend of intense action and emotional depth.  With editing by Shafique Mohamed Ali, music by Santhosh Narayanan, and photography by Shreyaas Krishna, Retro is looking to be a visually stunning and emotionally impactful film.
