Reportedly it has been two years since the kashi vishwanath temple complex was renovated. Getting to the kasi Vishwanath temple in varanasi from the banks of the ganges, one had to go through narrow streets and roads. Due to this, the devotees were in a lot of trouble. Following this, prime minister Modi laid the foundation stone for the Rs.339 crore Kashi Vishwanathar Campus project on march 8, 2019 to go directly from the banks of the ganges to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Following this, prime minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the renovated kashi vishwanath temple complex on 13th 2021. In this case, it has been two years since the opening of the renovated complex at Kashi Vishwanath Temple.
On this occasion, prime minister Modi said, “Vishwanath temple is not just a grand building. Symbol of Sanatana culture of India; A symbol of our spiritual soul; It is a symbol of India's antiquity, traditions, India's power and energy.” He said. The upgraded Vishwanath Complex for Kashi is a journey beyond bricks and mortar and a renaissance of India's civilizational glory, the central government said.

Entrepreneurial spirit in varanasi is said to be contributing significantly to economic growth. 300 small shops were acquired for this project. It is seen as a good initiative that the complex has been set up by negotiating with 1400 shopkeepers, paying compensations and occupying the premises.
